Specialization:
Global Governance and Human Rights
Bio:
Anne O’Connor grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, and received her B.A. in English Literature at UC Santa Barbara. During her undergrad career, Anne developed a love of foreign languages, travel, and history, leading to a six-month study abroad program in the UK and an interest in global studies and international relations.
While she has yet to choose a concrete focus for her research, her preferred topic is intercultural communication and how it affects foreign policy, especially within multinational governing bodies such as the EU and ASEAN. She is very excited to be returning to UCSB, where she hopes she’ll find the inspiration and motivation she needs to narrow her interests into a cohesive thesis.
