This lecture will provide an overview of how international human rights are utilized to protect the environment. We will look at the different ways in which human rights and environmental protection interact, considering both procedural and substantive components. The lecture will offer insight into the question of what "are" international human rights, and account for the broader issues at work given the two-way relationship between human rights and environmental issues.
