Location, Location, Location: spatial planning and the making of fungible environmental values in contemporary China

In the past decade, China has emerged as the global manufacturing leader of renewable energy commodities such as wind turbines and solar panels. This lecture examines how this making of environmental commodities has intersected with the environmental valuation and regulation of rural land as a site and capital resource for so-called green development.
